1. Self-portraits!
For this, you will need a blank sheet of paper, colors, and a mirror. Ask your little ones to take a sit in front of a mirror, or place a mirror in front of them. They will need to draw their own faces on the paper, coloring it to make their own self-portrait. After this is done, encourage your little ones to identify the parts of their faces in the drawing. Tell them to write them down if they already know how to do it, or help them with this task if they are still mastering their writing skills. They will learn to identify themselves while they practice the parts of the face. Sometimes the simplest of activities give the best results!
2. Face scramble
For this activity, you will need to draw or print and cut two or three different face shapes, types of hair, pairs of eyes, noses, pairs of ears, and mouths. The objective of the game is to tell the kids to create a face grabbing the necessary parts each time, mixing the ones they have to come up with new combinations of faces. This way they will be able to learn about the parts of the head while having fun. Remember to repeat each parts’ name as you play!

3. Do as I say, not as I do!
This game is a fun way to teach about face parts names while working on children’s listening and attention skills. Place yourself in front of your little ones, tell them that you will say a sentence at the same time that you perform an action, but they should only do what you say, not what you do. You could start by using simple instructions such as “Touch your nose.“ while you perform the action of touching your mouth and, following the instructions of the game, the kids should only touch their noses. It’s a great way to encourage children to pay attention to what they hear.
