Fruits

Learning fruit vocabulary is an important step to teach children healthy eating habits. Here you'll find fun games and activities to teach children about fruits!

Some are sweet, and some are acid, but most of them are the perfect healthy, yummy snack. Fruits are one of the wonders of nature, there are different types and they come in different shapes and sizes, so there’s one for every taste! If your little ones enjoy sweet treats, bananas may become their favorites. Or if they want something more crunchy, apples are also a great choice! Given that fruits are also very varied in color, tastes, and textures, they are very fun to eat.

Fruits are not only delicious, they are very healthy too! They are excellent for children since they contain dietary fiber that helps the body absorb minerals from food; vitamins which are great to boost their immune systems; and also provide some of the nutrients needed so children can have a healthier development. It’s a good idea to incorporate different types of fruit to children’s diet from an early age. They are great as desserts and are a healthy way to get more energy.

Learning about fruits is not only a matter of nutrition, it improves children’s vocabulary and cultural knowledge too! Especially since there are many different fruit options that are specific to some parts of the world, like the Blue Java Banana found in Hawaii which tastes like vanilla ice cream, or the jackfruit from South Asia which is a supposed to taste like a mix between pineapple and bubblegum.

Learning fruit names could be a lot of fun for kids, here you’ll find a list of fruit names in English to practice with your little ones!
