We’re Going On a Treasure Hunt

Practice the prepositions in English while searching for a hidden treasure in the desert!

?”We’re Going On a Treasure Hunt” Lyrics

We’re going on a treasure hunt.
We’re going on a treasure hunt.
Got my sunglasses.
Got my sunglasses.
I’m not scared.
I’m not scared.

Oh, look at those grassy dunes.
They’re so tall.
They’re so tall.

We can’t go over it.
We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
We can’t go under it.
We’ll have to go through it.
We’ll have to go through it.
Swish, swish, swish, swish.

We’re going on a treasure hunt.
We’re going on a treasure hunt.
Got my sunscreen.
Got my sunscreen.
I’m not scared.
I’m not scared.

Uh oh, there’s a big lagoon.
Oh!

We can’t go over it.
We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
We can’t go under it.
We’ll have to swim through it.
Splash, splash, splash, splash.

We’re going on a treasure hunt.
We’re going on a treasure hunt.
Got my treasure map.
Got my treasure map.
I’m not scared.
I’m not scared.

Oh, look at all those shells.
So many.

We can’t go over them.
We can’t go over them.
We can’t go under them.
We can’t go under them.
We’ll have to walk across them.
Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch

We’re going on a treasure hunt.
We’re going on a treasure hunt.
Got my shovel.
Got my shovel.
I’m not scared.
I’m not scared.

Uh oh, what’s that?
It’s an X!
It’s an X!

We can’t go over it.
We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
We can’t go under it.
Going to have to dig it.
Dig, dig, dig, dig

We’re going on a treasure hunt.
We’re going on a treasure hunt.
Gonna find a big one.
Gonna find a big one.
I’m not scared.
I’m a little scared.

It sure is dark down here.
What’s that in the corner?
I see two big eyes.
I see two big eyes.
I see two gold teeth.
I see two gold teeth.
I feel one big beard.
I feel one big beard
I know what that is.
It’s a pirate!

Let’s get out of here!

Let’s dig out of the hole!
Dig, dig, dig.

Quickly back across the shells!
Crunch, crunch, crunch

Let’s cross the lagoon!
Splash, splash, splash.

Through the grassy dunes!
Swish, swish, swish.

Through the yard, up the stairs, into the house, close the door!

We’re safe.

That’s a close one.

Let’s not go treasure hunting anymore!

Description

Going on an adventure is very exciting! And Lisa the Cat and Bobby the Dog know this quite well since they embark on an unforgettable journey in the song “We’re Going on a Treasure Hunt.” So, what are Lisa and Bobby up to in this particular adventure?

In this song, the friends will practice prepositions in English! They will be using the prepositions “over,” “under,” “through,” and “across” while going on a dangerous but exciting journey. Let’s check it out!

On a bright, sunny day, the two friends head to the desert looking for something exceptional: they’re looking for a treasure! It is supposed to be an old wooden chest filled with all sorts of valuable objects. To do this, they are using an old treasure map. In the map, the “x” marks the spot where the treasure can be found. All that they need to do is follow the path from where they are to get to the right place.

Lisa and Bobby check for their sunglasses, and they start walking. They go past some palm trees and suddenly reach high grassy dunes. They can’t go over them, or under them, so they decide to go through them. They are very brave! After some time, they arrive at a clearing. Lisa re-applies sunscreen while Bobby rests a minute hiding from the sun under an umbrella.

The pair keeps walking and reach a big lagoon! They study their possibilities and decide to swim through it. They reach a beach with many clams. It’s impossible to go over them or under them, so they walk across them. They cross that patch of land and reach the other side. Finally, they’re right on the right spot! They start digging the sand, making a small cave while looking for the treasure. Suddenly, they get to a bigger cave…What could be hidden there?

Both friends are scared…In the darkness, they can see big eyes and a big mouth with golden teeth, and they can feel a big beard as well… It’s Elliot the Panda, a fierce pirate guarding the treasure! Lisa and Bobby run back to their house and arrive safely!

Now that the adventure is over, it’s time to practice!

Listen to this fun children’s song with your little one a few times. Sing along, and if your child is old enough, read the lyrics to practice your pronunciation in English! Also, the video illustrates what these prepositions mean, making it easier to learn them.

Additionally, you can practice even more vocabulary in English by describing the animals in English that you can see in the video. Can you the turtle and the fish?

It’s time to have fun learning and singing!
