Are you ready for a marvelous adventure in the ocean? Then let’s start having fun with the Baby Shark song! In this original version of the famous Baby Shark song, you will get to the meet the Lingokids characters, but…all of them are dressed as sharks!
Before going into the video…Did you know that this song is actually quite old?
Baby shark started out as a nursery rhyme for kids that was mostly sung during campfires. It was a great way to keep everyone entertained while singing and performing different moves during different parts of the song. After this, the song’s simplicity and catchy lyrics helped it gain popularity in several countries, which resulted in a myriad of different versions with their own lyrics.
Children love the song! It’s very easy to sing and its melody is easy to remember, making it the perfect icebreaker for parties, classrooms, and all sorts of children’s activities. In this version, the four Lingokids friends are all together having a fun pool party on a sunny day. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and they are having so much fun while playing on the cool water.
Elliot the Panda, Cowy the Cow, Lisa the Cat, and Billy the Bird are dancing and singing in a pool. Each time, one of the friends jumps into the pool and performs a different dance move! First is Cowy, she’s dancing and moving her arms like the jaws of a shark! Next comes Elliot. He is moving his arms up and down to the rhythm of the music. Along comes Billy, who’s swimming and dancing! And Finally, there’s Lisa, who’s very happy while dancing.
After dancing in the pool, the four friends are very hungry, so they decide it’s time to eat something! They have cookies, fruits, beverages, sweets, and sandwiches… It’s so good! With their stomachs full, the friends decide it’s time to relax in the pool, so they hop on inflatable floats. So relaxing!
This song, besides being so much fun for your child, is a great opportunity to practice some English vocabulary while watching the video. Check it out together and try to name the different things you can see.
Where is the treasure chest? What about the octopus? Take advantage of the beautiful images under the sea and ask your little one if they can spot the oyster, the school of fish, or the squid. Practice this way the names of aquatic animals in English!
Finally, remember to practice the different dance moves shown in the video with your child. You can even adapt the lyrics and personalize each verse to fit the members of your family. It’s a fun way to do some exercise together and to have a fun time dancing!
